Invested in Education.
Ready to Lead.

I believe strong schools grow through curiosity, listening, transparency, and collaboration. As a parent of two CVUSD students and a Castro Valley homeowner for nearly two decades, I’m deeply invested in our schools and community.

As a school board member, I will put students at the center of every decision while prioritizing: academic excellence, safe schools, quality teaching, and effective leadership.

Together, we can move CVUSD forward with accountability, dignity, and respect.

“Dragon boating is a team sport where no individual can pull or move the boat alone.”
— Kara Wong

After college, I found dragon boating, a community built on teamwork and inclusion. I spent years volunteer-coaching more than 50 high school students each year. At practice, I’d ask a row of two students to paddle the 4,000 pound boat alone before asking the entire team to join in. Two students struggled to move the 4,000 pound boat by themselves, but the full team moved it with ease. This showed students that every person matters and we accomplish more when we work together.

I later joined the California Dragon Boat Association Board, helping the organization navigate growth and change. When it needed to refocus on young athletes, I helped shape its Youth Protection Plan.
